Couponing apps are nothing new — and there are probably a hundred of them I don’t even know about! I’m on a tight budget, but I’m also on a tight schedule. So if I’m going to use a couponing app, it has to be super easy and convenient.

Here are the three I actually use:

Fetch is an app on your phone where you earn points toward gift cards (for places like Amazon!). You can earn points in two ways:

1. Scan your paper receipts.
2. Link your email, Walmart account, Amazon account, and other retail accounts.

Fetch will scan your linked accounts and credit your points automatically. It’s super simple and very low effort — my favorite kind of saving!

Rakuten has both an app and an extension for your computer. Certain retailers offer a percentage cash back on your purchases either/both online and in store.

I do a lot of my online shopping on my computer, so the browser extension works great for me. Rakuten pops up a little notice whenever cash back is available. All you do is click to activate the cash back. Then every quarter the cash back is sent over to your Paypal account.

Here’s my recent activity. It’s not big money, But every little bit adds up. What’s really fun, when you use my link to sign up and make a purchase, you and I both get a $50 bonus. Now that’s money! 😉

Ibotta is an app (and I think it has an extension too). It’s more of a traditional couponing app – you click on specific rebates before shopping, then upload your receipts afterward.

If you are a Walmart shopper, Ibotta is especially great. Link Ibotta to your Walmart account. After a Walmart purchase, Ibotta checks for eligible rebates and credits your account.

Note: Ibotta and Walmart are partners, so you can’t stack the Walmart cash back with Ibotta cash back on the same purchase. However, not all Ibotta cash back deals are the same as the Walmart’s, so sometimes you’ll get extra savings.

If you shop at Walmart.com, it is possible to earn a total percentage cash back (like Rakuten). Unfortunately, they don’t currently offer cash back on grocery pickup orders. This is the main way that I shop Walmart.

Here is my recent activity. Again, not huge rebates, but every little bit helps. I usually save up my rewards until Christmastime to help pay for Christmas gifts.🎁

A couple notes:

1. Only use these apps for the things you were planning to buy anyway. Don’t chase extra points by buying things you don’t need.
2. These apps have other features, like earning points by playing games, but I know I don’t want to use my time for stuff like that. (But you do you boo!)
